Misbak [Psalm 88(89):7,8]
igzeeabheyr (the Lord) is glorious in the council of the holy ones, He is great and wonderful amongst the ones who encircle him , igzeeo (O Lord) God of the mighty ones, who is like you?
I will repeat this time after time and ad-infinitum. Semitic poetry uses repetition as 21st Century North Americans use emojis. If the latter use emojis to emphasize certain feelings or a given message, then the former uses repetition and synonymous phrases to do the same - to deliver a life-giving word.
Who are the mighty ones if not holy ones? Both the 1st and 2nd line refer to disembodies, ethereal, non-corporeal, non-flesh, spiritual beings. Amongst these beings, considered by some to be gods and goddesses, the Lord God (YHWH - I AM) is different, other, unique, a black sheep, a black swan, set apart, holy, and thus better.
Many American Christians ignore the other members of the spiritual realm besides God. This is dangerous. This can take us away from substantive Scriptural debate regarding human behavior to personal and thus subjective philosophical ramblings and semantic arguments to show who has sexier gray matter biceps. How does God's relationship to other spiritual beings relate to human behavior?
who is like you?
There is no one like God, neither in the heavens nor on earth. He cannot be matched. He has no equal. He is existence. He is life. His Way is The Way.
God, through his everlasting mercy, allows spiritual beings and fleshly beings to do His will. There is no greater honor.
Furthermore, we must love each other.
