Venerate our Virgin
Orthodoxy is the established and sound doctrine passed down from disciple to disciple, originating in the selection of disciples by our lord and savior Jesus of Nazareth. Our salvation is found in the dogma of the universal and orthodox church. That the Father created all that is, that Eyesus rose from the dead, and that Parakletos gifted us with the remission of sins, is apodeictic. We reach this with unconditional faith in the ratiocination given to us by the Lord. If we did not trust our decision makers, our minds, then we could not trust anything or anyone. Praise be to the Lord God for making us in his image.
Then God said "Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." (Genesis 1:26)*
If we are not dogmatic in belief in Christ, then we are not Christians. Secular humanists fear, decry, and shun dogma. They use the word as a pejorative. Christians should not. We should stand proudly on the way, and the truth, and the life. Evangelist Abba Woldetensai teaches us that doctrine is the reflection of the light of dogma. Doctrine is the moon, which has no light of its own, and it shines the reflection of the Sun's light, he says. Our doctrinal practices lead us to a greater faith in our awesome God.
Heterodoxy undermines our growth in God by bashing the true and historic teachings handed down to us. From its inception, the Catholic Orthodox Church**, has venerated the Holy Virgin Mary. Saint Luke, author of one of four synoptic gospels, testifies to the blessing received by the Godbearer. She knows how to pray
And Mary said:
"My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
For he has regarded the lowly state of his maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
For he who is mighty has done great things for me,
And holy is his name.
And his mercy is on those who fear him
From generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm;
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
In remembrance of his mercy,
As he spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and his seed forever."
(Luke 1:46-55)
More importantly, she accepts the will of God at face value.
Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." And the Angel departed from her. (Luke 1:38)
And how do we know that her encounter is from the will of God?
Now in the sixth month the Angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The Virgin's name was Mary. (Luke 1:26-27)
Why do we ask the Holy Virgin Mary to intercede on our behalf? It is the doctrine of the Church. She is deserving of praise and veneration. Her intercession is called the beginning of signs, as it is written in the Holy Scriptures.
And when they ran out of wine, the Mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine."... Jesus said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." And they filled them up to the brim. And he said to them, "Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast." And they took it. When the master of the feast tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom... This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; And his disciples believed in him. (John 2:1-11)***
Though our fathers, the Apostles, trespassed against the Lord God from time to time, they lived as obedient bondservants to his word made flesh. In this era of spiritual warfare against principalities and powers, we must seek refuge in the Power and the Glory, forever and ever, AMAYN.
Post Scriptum:
Be proud of Mary.
*I added emphasis to mysteries revealing trinitarian doctrine.
**Catholic means universal, and Orthodox means established.
