Witness & Evensong Translation

 Today, March 17, 2018, marks seven years of me being cancer-free. I want to use this moment to give glory to the most high God. I was able to commemorate this milestone by visiting Saint Anthony's Coptic Orthodox Monastery in the wilderness of Newberry Springs, CA approximately halfway between Las Vegas, Nevada and Los Angeles, CA. I went on this trip with an Ethiopian parish that has administrative (synodal) and theological (christology and the role of the saints) issues with my home parish. I thank God for allowing me to have faith (trust) working with love toward my 'enemies' as a response to his love toward humankind.

As an added bonus to this special day, I will translate this portion of our evening prayers from the Great Fast that we are halfway done with.

"hale hallelujah look toward us o lord, may your forgiveness be a helper unto us, and do not cast us away, have mercy upon us, spare us o lord, o lord forgive us"
